GRADUATE COLLECTION PHOTO SHOOT "THE ESCAPE"

“Six horses, six personalities “Six horses, six personalities, one night”

With the collection been inspired by a short story in which I wrote
about the struggles in which six horses overcame while trying to escape
their evil master. I wanted the shoot to emulate the story and showcase
each horse’s personalities, starting off with the young lively cheeky
ponies to the older more life lived horse. The garments emulate their
personalities and challenges during their adventure, ‘The Escape’.

I feel the diverse textures complement the body and allow a natural
balance to occur. I wanted the collection to be electric, eclectic, edgy,
elegant, chic and demure. This six-piece collection offers six different
personalities an overall look that challenges daywear. Working on the
shoot was five models, two make up artist, a hair artist and a photographer,
all locally sourced in the midlands and I am delighted to say they all
worked great with my vision of the story. The location on where it was
shot was a perfect back drop for the story and yet again was at the cusp
of my reach.

GRADUATE COLLECTION

Six horses, six personalities, one night”
As far back as I can remember my relationship with horses has been the bones of my life. The
collection was inspired by a short story in which I wrote about the struggles in which six horses
overcame while trying to escape their evil master. Having trouble with both the structures and
freedoms of life. Each horse’s personality portrays her own personal challenges and dynamics in
life, starting off with the young lively cheeky ponies to the older more life lived horse. The
garments emulate their personalities and challenges during their adventure, ‘The Escape’.

I finds using diverse textures complement the body and allow a natural balance to occur. I wanted
the collection to be electric, eclectic, edgy, elegant, chic and demure. This six-piece collection
offers six different personalities an overall look that challenges daywear.

THE JOURNEY BEGINS

Experienced in Music, drama, Theatre Studies and Fashion Buying, I have come to realise that
all these elements have accumulated in the basic fundamentals of my chosen direction in
Fashion Design. This direction was nurtured and informed in my family setting.  Having both
Artists and Graphic Designers in my immediate environment, means that inspiration and
creativity is on tap. I have currently completed a BA in fashion design at Limerick School of Art
and Design, Limerick Institute Of Technology, Ireland. I feel that the course has developed and
strengthened my existing skills and built on these foundations. The course has given me an
inspiring education, which will enable me to enter my chosen career with a complete skill set to
succeed.

My strengths rest in the combination of Textures, Pattern and Fabrics. The coming together of
traditional design teachings with the fusion of business focus is preparing me for a career in
fashion. I have high aims for the future.
